Hôtel Les Beaux Arts
Welcome to Hôtel Les Beaux Arts
Hôtel Les Beaux Arts, located at 33 Cr Guynemer in the heart of Compiègne, embodies an authentic French charm that appeals to travelers seeking both convenience and character. With a modest rating of 3.9, this hotel offers a blend of old-world ambiance and practical comfort, making it a popular choice among visitors and business travelers alike.
Set near the tranquil Oise River and just minutes from the Compiègne train station, the hotel’s stone facade hints at its historic roots. Guests frequently praise its prime location, allowing easy access to notable landmarks such as the 18th-century Palais de Compiègne and the vibrant town center. This proximity makes it an excellent base for sightseeing, dining, and exploring the rich culture of the region.
The rooms at Hôtel Les Beaux Arts tend to be spacious, especially the duplex family suites boasting stunning sunset views over the river and rooftops. While the decor leans toward the traditional and may show signs of wear—reflecting a certain vintage allure—cleanliness and comfort remain consistent highlights. Some guests have noted the need for updates, such as modern amenities like minibars, safes, and refreshed furnishings, yet this does not detract significantly from the overall experience.
A standout feature is the hotel’s staff, frequently described as warm, accommodating, and attentive. Their hospitality enhances the atmosphere, turning a simple stay into a welcoming French encounter. Whether it’s meeting specific guest requests or offering local recommendations, the staff’s friendliness consistently earns praise.
The hotel maintains a cozy and somewhat quirky personality, enhanced by its history as a former Best Western property. Frequent visitors appreciate the affordable rates and the attached restaurant, which is noted for quality French cuisine. Secure yet snug parking and a decent breakfast complete the practical aspects of a stay here.
Hôtel Les Beaux Arts may not appeal to travelers seeking contemporary luxury, but its unique blend of historic character, central location, and genuine hospitality offers a memorable and authentic French lodging experience. It presents an inviting option for those who value atmosphere and locality over flashiness—ideal for families, business trips, or leisurely escapes in northern France.

The bedrooms and the hotel in general were very clean. Big rooms too for this hotel standing. We enjoyed the sense of hospitality of the staff and how they accommodated us with our requests. Location is attractive for those who need to be close to the railway station (5’ walking).
We stay here at least once a year when travelling or for business. Set near the centre of compiegne and within easy walking distance of most attractions. Nice old building by the river, the rooms are quite dated and tired and could really do with a make over. However they are comfortable and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are many good restaurants and cafes nearby. Shopping is surprising good. You can have pleasant walks by the river or go to the palace or the old centre which is around the town hall. Please note there is no aircon and you can really feel the need for it in the summer as the rooms can get almost unbearable. The attached restaurant 'Les Beux Arts' is excellent. Pretty good Chinese just round the block. The underground car park is secure and easy to access. Not really a 4 star hotel anymore. Still Recommended.
Beautiful sunset views over the river and rooftops of Compiegne, from the duplex family rooms on the 4th floor. The room was incredibly spacious with two comfortable double beds, and a wrought iron spiral staircase. Amenities were basic (we did not find a minibar or safe in the room) and bathroom was small but the location and views are incredible. Downstairs next door you have one of the nicest typical bistrots of the city with friendly owners and daily specials, menu for 23 euros. We were allowed to stay with our small dog for no extra fee. The hotel is undergoing important renovation works in March 2024, this was not a problem for us as we arrived after 6pm and left before 8am. My husband said the breakfast was good.
We've been staying here for years on our way south. A slightly quirky hotel, used to be Best Western. Reasonable prices, friendly staff, excellent restaurant attached. Very best lift message ever when going up. Good secure car parking if a bit tight to get into. Good breakfast. Recommended for an authentic French stay.
There’s an Ibis budget opposite but I’d take this old small town hotel every time for its French charm. Could be better in so many ways with a little more investment but then it wouldn’t be the same anything. I’d happily stay again.
The hotel is quite old fashioned but fairly nicely presented. Breakfast is quite tasty. Despite the rooms being quite loud (close proximity to the main Street) the best part of the hotel is the friendly staff
My stay was for two nights at the best western hotel Les Beaux. The room was fine and clean. My company use this hotel as its go to base when we are working at the French office. The walls are supprisingly red and it shocked me at first that I have to press a button to light the hallways. Good stay.
Used a suite for a stopover on a journey- family of 5, with kids 3 to 7 years old. The suite was huge and good value. Kitchen area with oven was useful although no pots and pans. The decor was a bit tired and run down- and could have been a little cleaner, but the location and price overall made it good value- would use again for a short stopover. Compiegne itself was very nice- the hotel was just around the corner from the prettiest part of town. Parking was available in a public pay on exit underground car park opposite the hotel- a bit of a pain to get into as the signage was not clear so a satnav and a sharp eye are useful!
